Pit bulls are now public enemy No.1 at New York City housing projects. Starting Friday, the powerful popular breed that's sometimes trained to be violent is banned from all apartments run by the city Housing Authority, the New York Daily News reports.

Groomer Gets Help from TV’s ‘Dog Whisperer’
Lauren Warshaw, owner of Club Doggie Mobile Grooming Salon in La Quinta, says she found the taping of an episode of “Dog Whisperer” a surreal experience. Surgery Saves Dog Who Ate Homer
A dog needed life-saving emergency surgery after swallowing a plastic toy of cartoon character Homer Simpson. Dalmatian-Collie mix Dixie, from Aberdeen, ate a chocolate with the toy inside. It showed up on an X-ray and was removed by vets, who said Dixie could have died without surgery, BBCnews.co.uk reports.
