A woman got the surprise of her life when she walked into her garage to see why her dogs were barking. She found a full-grown mountain lion. Ana Lee Spray, 23, says her three Chihuahuas were barking so loudly that it woke her up Saturday morning, KTLA-TV (Los Angeles, Calif.) reports.

A hearing-impaired man is crediting his service dog with saving his life from a fire. Darrin Weeks says his dog Roscoe jumped on the bed Sunday to wake him after a fire broke out in the building of his Orlando duplex, The Associated Press reports.

Police have arrested a suspected bank robber after spotting him walking his dog near his Rancho Bernardo, Calif., home. Flushed Puppy Freed From Pipes
A British woman said her 10-week-old puppy survived a trip through her house's plumbing after her young son accidentally flushed the small dog down the toilet. Alison Blair, 40, said her young son, Daniel, dropped the puppy into the commode at their Northolt, England, home for a bath after he became muddy during a walk and the dog disappeared down the drain, United Press International reports.
