Basset Hound Survives Alligator Attack
A 12-year-old Basset Hound is recovering after she was attacked by an alligator earlier this month. The dog, named Sophie, was attacked Wednesday near a pond in Odessa, Fla. According to The Tampa Tribune, an alligator clamped down on Sophie's hind quarters and abdomen and tried to pull the dog into the water, The Associated Press reports.

People usually complain about excessive barking when it comes to neighborhood dogs. But in downtown Los Angeles, an influx of dogs has turned the city into a doggie dumping ground of sorts.
