Pet Paradise Pet Resorts, based in Jacksonville, Fla., has collected over 6,000 pounds of pet food during its second annual pet food drive — food for more than 24,000 meals.
“We are pleased to be able to help out the communities we serve and partner with such great organizations that directly serve the local communities,” says Pet Paradise COO Fernando Acosta-Rua.
The Food for Paws drive collected food in four states, and benefited the Charlotte-Macklenburg Animal Care & Control in Charlotte, N.C.; Second Harvest Food Bank in Metrolina, N.C.; Rescue Bank, a Houston-based pet food bank; the Jacksonville Humane Society; and Animal Rescue New Orleans.
Lisa Pogue, director of marketing for Pet Paradise, says Pet Paradise wanted the pet food drive to help not only pets but people in need. “It was important to us that the pet food also reached pet owners struggling during these tough times,” she says.
