Cindy Adams with Yorkie at the 2010 Blessing of the Animals |
The ASPCA and New York Post Society columnist Cindy Adams will host the Third Annual ASPCA Blessing of the Animals at Christ Church on Dec. 11, 2011.
A custom conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures, the blessing of the animals is a unique tradition that honors animals of all shapes and sizes.
Each year the event draws a larger crowd of passionate and distinguished animal lovers who come to spread holiday cheer by having their beloved furry, finned or feathered pets blessed. This year Bachelorette’s Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum will be attending with their beloved yorkie, Boo.
The blessing will performed by Senior Minister Stephen Bauman and Senior Rabbi Peter J. Rubinstein with a special performance by the renowned Brooklyn Youth Choir. Over 100 animals were blessed last year.
The event is free and is family and pet friendly. Treats will be available for the pets.
