A Wire Fox Terrier known as “Sky” for short won the Best in Show honors and $50,000 in prize money at the AKC/Eukanuba National Champioship held in Orlando, Fla. on December 15th and 16th, 2012. Sky's full name is GCh. Afterall Painting the Sky and is owned by V. Malzoni Jr., T. Steele, S. and M. Olund and Diane Ryan of Rialto, California. (Note: GCh. stands for Grand Champion and Ch. stands for Champion.)
The Reserve Best in Show winner was a Saluki named GCh. Shiraz California Dreamin'. Nicklas and Ingunn Eriksson of Sweden are the owners.
For the first time videos of the AKC/Eukanuba Best of Breed competition are available on DogChannel.com. (Video links are below.) The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship will be telecast on Saturday, February 2, 2013 on the ABC Television Network.
Thousands of dogs competed over five days in a variety of world-class dog sporting competitions. Thousands of dogs will compete over five days in a variety of world-class dog sporting competitions on December 12-16, 2012 in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center. This spectacular dog celebration tops all other dog events in the nation with over 15,500 combined entries.
Highlights from the daytime Best of Breed judging and the Bred-By-Exhibitor groups will be video streamed here on DogChannel (with a 2-hour delay.) Dogs will compete under one roof in the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, Eukanuba World Challenge, the AKC Agility Invitational, AKC National Obedience Invitational, and several junior events.

Meet more than 140 American Kennel Club dog breeds, see the Eukanuba SuperDogs, enjoy dog-themed holiday shopping and much more.
The largest celebration of man's best friend in the United States launches in Orlando on Dec. 15- 16 at the Orange County Convention Center. Dog lovers will experience two days packed full of exciting canine-centric, family-friendly, dog-gone fun.
Presented by the American Kennel Club and Eukanuba, Celebrate Dogs! is open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Celebrate Dogs! features a variety of exciting demonstrations and competitions including: the AKC Agility Invitational, the AKC National Obedience Invitational, AKC Meet the Breeds, Dock Dogs, and the daytime dog show judging of the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.
Additionally, the canine vendor mall will offer holiday shoppers more than 140 different doggie boutiques to pick out gifts for dog-loving family and friends. Shoppers can show off their breed loyalties with a dog breed shirt, pick up a new dog bed for the Beagle, and find exquisite, hand-crafted pet-oriented jewelry.
Celebrate Dogs! will comprise 800,000 square feet of event space in the West Building of the Orange County Convention Center. Convenient parking and free shuttle transportation will be available.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Orange County Convention Center Box Office on the days of the event.

Meet the AKC/Eukanua National Championship Judges

The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship dog show, held on Dec. 15-16, 2012, in Orlando will feature exciting changes.
This year's show will be an open show, allowing all competitors and awarding Championship and Grand Championship points.
“We're excited to open the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship to all competitors,” says Michael Canalizo, event manager. “Allowing all dogs to compete in the extraordinary competition at the National Championship is an exciting enhancement to the show.”
The top 25 dogs from each breed as well as Bred-By Exhibitor Champions and other special qualifiers will continue to be celebrated with an invitation granting special recognition.
In addition to the conformation competition, the show will feature the AKC Agility Invitational and National Obedience Invitational, the Bred-By Exhibitor competition, the Eukanuba World Challenge and AKC Meet the Breeds.
“Eukanuba is proud to partner once again with the American Kennel Club to present the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship as well as the preceding shows,” says Jason Taylor, Event Manager for Eukanuba. “Watch for updates on the show's new format and additional enhancements that will be incorporated into the week-long activities.”
The Orange County Convention Center will once again host The Space Coast Kennel Club of Palm Bay, Brevard Kennel Club and Central Florida Kennel Club shows on Dec. 12-14, 2012, making for five full days of dog shows.
