AKC Offers Dog Art For Sale

The venerable dog organization will sell reproductions of popular paintings from its collection for the first time ever.

The American Kennel Club is making its art collection – reportedly valued in the hundreds of millions – available to dog fans for the first time ever through limited edition reproductions of nearly two dozen paintings.

The limited-quantity prints will be available in sizes ranging from 8 by 10 inches to 36 by 48 inches, and include works that depict breeds such as Beagles, Airedales, Smooth Fox Terriers, Pointers, and English Setters. The AKC Collection will also include special editions as large as 6 by 10 feet.

“Our ultimate goal is to offer a complete portfolio of breeds and groups to collectors,” says Rachel Allgood, director of sales and marketing for the Meisner Gallery, which licensed the images.

The artwork retails between $250 and $10,000, depending on the size and framing. “It is nearly impossible to differentiate the reproductions from the originals,” Allgood adds. “They evoke a richness and depth I’m as proud to offer collectors as I am to display in my own home.”

The AKC collection is recognized as one of the finest canine art collections in the world. The original collection is on display at the AKC’s New York headquarters.
