Do you love purebred dogs? Are you artistically inclined? If you answered yes to both questions, submit an original two-dimensional painting or drawing that celebrates the theme “The Wonderful World of Purebred Dogs.”
The poster will commemorate the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, which takes place on December 13–14, 2008, in Long Beach, Calif. The eighth annual competition brings together 2,500 top dogs from across the nation and around the world.
The deadline for the submission is October 10, 2008 for online entries and October 13, 2008 for postmarked mail-in entries. A grand-prize winner will be selected from 10 finalists and receive $1,000 and a four-day-three-night trip for two to Long Beach.
The winning artwork will be used in a commemorative poster sold at the event and on the AKC website. Proceeds go to Take the Lead, a nonprofit organization that provides services, support, and care for people in the sport of purebred dogs who suffer from illness.
