Dog Fashion Inspired by Celebrity Gowns

A Los Angeles company creates a dog fashion collection that mimics popular red-carpet looks.

Celebrity gowns have long been targets for knockoffs: Jennifer Lopez wears a $10,000 dress to the Golden Globes, and the next week a similar dress for much less money appears at a mall near you.

Now, Little Lily, the Los Angeles-based maker of high-end dog fashions like LilyBoots, has launched the so-called Red Carpet Collection, featuring Hollywood looks redrawn for your dog.

The new collection steals inspiration from this year’s Oscars. There’s “The Leo,” a black-and-white satin tuxedo named for Leonardo DiCaprio’s red-carpet look; “The Jennifer,” an iridescent, gem-encrusted “goddess” gown based on Jennifer Lopez’s ensemble; “The Nicole,” a fire-engine red doggie gown with an oversized bow inspired by Nicole Kidman; “The Penelope,” an elaborate blush-colored dog gown based on Penelope Cruz’s Versace stunner; and “The Reese,” a royal blue tiered dog dress named for Reese Witherspoon’s much-talked-about gown.

Items range from $60 to $128, and fit dogs up to 22 pounds. Visit http://little-lily.com/001/usa/redcarpet_04.php for more information.

I love dressing my little Chihuahua up in cute outfits! But it's hard to find a good fit for her.

I think it is wicked awesome.Dogs deserve to be treated just as humans. You don't go out in public naked now do you.

I think its great to dress our dogs like celebrities. So cute. But not big enough for my dog, he weighs 93 pound.
