NYC & Company, New York’s official marketing and tourism organization, and WNBC News 4 You highlighted various activities that both people and their dogs can enjoy on a September 7, 2007, segment of News 4 You.
“New York City is not only fashionable and fun for people but for pets as well,” says NYC & Company’s Tiffany Townsend. “[The segment] shows that activities like shopping, visiting the city’s parks and beaches, or dining out apply to four-legged friends as well.”
The segment featured high-end pet boutique Trixie + Peanut Emporium, Prospect Park Dog Beach where water-loving canines can splash around in one of the park’s lakes, and Chez Josephine’s, a restaurant located in Manhattan’s theatre district where dog owners can eat and listen to live music with their pets in the restaurant’s outdoor dining area.
“New York City can appear intimidating for both owners and pets, but it is actually incredibly accommodating,” says WNBC anchor Perri Peltz. “The city offers many creative activities to make everyone – owners and pets alike – feel welcome.”
