Bill Aims to Limit Number of Dogs Held in Abusive Puppy Mills
The Louisiana House Agriculture Committee on Wednesday advanced legislation aimed at making it illegal for puppy mill owners to maintain more than 75 breeding dogs. The bill aims to limit the number of dogs held in abusive puppy mills – mills that churn out thousands of dogs for sale in pet stores and over the internet, WWL (La.) reports.

Owners of Big Dogs Growl Over Pet Policy at Glendale Mall
A ban on large dogs has met controversy over size discrimination at an outdoor Southern California mall. The big-dog ban, which applies to pets over 25 pounds, is for safety reasons, but owners who’ve been instructed to leave with their dogs point out there are no signs posted indicating a size limit, the Los Angeles Times reports.
