Hollywood Santa Parade Goes to the Dogs

Thirty dog actors will appear in this year’s Christmas parade in Hollywood.

Top Hollywood dog actors will join singer Mary J. Blige and the cast of “High School Musical” at this year’s Hollywood Santa Parade, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 25.

Thirty dogs from the Le Paws Agency, which represents some of the entertainment industry’s top trained dog actors for film and TV, will don red velvet Santa Claus capes for their appearance at the annual parade.

Dog participants include Baldwin, a Puli who has appeared on MTV’s “Rob & Big” and “Dog Tales,” as well as Bliss, an Australian Shepherd who has appeared on “Dog Tales” and “60 Minutes,” according to Le Paws Agency spokesperson Susan Hartzler.

The Hollywood Santa Parade, which was known until last year as the Hollywood Christmas Parade, is now in its 76th year.

“I am so excited to be part of this longstanding Hollywood tradition,” said Le Paws Agency owner Michelle Zahn. “The Hollywood Santa Parade is going to be one of the highlights for the dogs and their handlers this year since a portion of the proceeds will go to help children in need.”

The parade is free and open to the public. Grandstand seats are available for $35 by calling (866) PARADE1.

I wonder if this might be televised nationally somewhere so those that can't make it to California might see and feel the excitement as well ...
