Hollywood Santa Parade to Feature Dogs

Celebrities and dogs help raise money for local children’s charity in annual parade.

The Hollywood Santa Parade, formerly known as the Hollywood Christmas Parade, will be taking place Nov. 25, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. Celebrities participating in this year’s event include Mary J. Blige, the cast of Disney’s “High School Musical,” and “American Idol” finalist Eliot Yamin.

This year, celebrity participants will be accompanied by more than 30 dogs from the Le Paws Agency wearing Santa capes embroidered with the company names of the event’s sponsors.

“I am so excited to be part of this longstanding Hollywood tradition,” says Le Paws owner Michelle Zahn. A portion of the proceeds from the “walking billboard” of sponsor names will be donated to a local children’s charity.

The parade is free and open to the public. Grandstand seats are available for $35 by calling (800) 998-6299.

I think the idea is great, only maybe more money could have made a lot more by maybe charging to have a seat in the parade with you dog. I know that I would pay to be in a parade with my sweet puppy.
