Get ready, animal lovers! Pets of all kinds and their owners will celebrate the human animal bond in health, recovery and love during New Leash On Life’s 3rd Annual Nuts for Mutts 5K Walk on Oct. 21, 2007, at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, Calif.
“The walk serves as an opportunity to educate the public and give insight into an amazing relationship, and the powerful and extraordinary capabilities and contributions these dogs have to share,” says Bobby Dorafshar, founder of New Leash On Life.
A beach-themed festival takes place immediately following the walk. Complete with food, music and pet-friendly vendors, the festival is free to the general public.
Funds raised from the Nuts for Mutts walk will help support New Leash On Life's Lend a Paw program, which places rescued animals in one-on-one and group therapeutic settings for people with disabilities. New Leash On Life believes that the human animal bond is a mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship that is influenced by behaviors that are essential to the health and well-being of both.
New Leash On Life was founded in Los Angeles in 1997 and has been responsible for spaying and neutering thousands of pets, rescuing and placing over 3,000 dogs, and providing a variety of programs to benefit area shelters and pets in need.
