I have two puppies that were born in the same sack and also shared the same markings as well as the same sex. These two pups are half the size of their siblings yet, both are healthy. One has three teats on the left four on the right, the other opposite. They also share a white spot under the chin and on the breast. because they are Dobermans they look exactly alike as both are black and rust but, one pup is smaller and somewhat less developed. They are growing fine but half the size of siblings. Would these be canidates to be checked for identical twins?

Of course they can be identical. And why would the average person/breeder desire to spend the money to prove it?

There was a story of a dog on TV that had a 5th leg/foot growing out of it's one front leg. That is an unformed "twin".
