It seems kinda strange that you have the old English sheepdog on both lists.

I have two dawgs: One is a White/Yellow Lab and he sheds like no tomorrow. He was a stray pup not old enough to leave his mother when he found us. It was love at first sight. The shedding was something we didn't know about him at the time, but you gotta love him anyway. We just deal with it.

Our other dog is a mini Black Lab and Chow Mix. She doesn't seem to shed as much as our other Lab. It's a relief to us. The only thing is our male sheds one month and then our female starts shedding. So, the clean up of dog hair is a never ending story at times.

I have a pomerian and they are heavy shedders. My advice is to bath regularly and a brush everyday. The groomers will become a regular visit for this breed, having the back end shaved down helps with poop clean up. the hair on this breed seems to grow at a fast rate. It's alot of care but they are so cute and loving it all seems worth it.

I have three pembroke welsh corgis that shed pretty much year round (it's A LOT of hair). They're brushed several times a week (though I think i should increase to daily). Their fur gets EVERYWHERE. I'm constantly vacuuming, finding hair balls in corners, wearing fur. My fiancé and I have accepted that fur is part of our daily wardrobe (other corgi owners understand) and we try to avoid dark colors lol. It's a lot of work, but soooo worth it! These are my fur babies and mama will do whatever is necessary to keep them happy and healthy!

I have a Chow mix and she sheds in globs spring and fall, but needs to be brushed several times a week, year round. I'm very puzzled that Chows are not listed as heavy shedders..

As a professional groomer in Central Virginia for more than 15 years, I've noticed that the "heavy shedders" mentioned above do have a different coat that grows in after repeated shaving.

It's almost as if Nature says "Still feeling air on my skin so double the
undercoat!"
Soon the guard hairs are less...undercoat even thicker! Almost like a Q-tip!

I live AZ and owned by Akita who sheds a great deal twice a year. So..I have him both groomed and I also use a Furminator on him. The combination seems to work well for both of us

I have several no shedders- Brussels Griffons, Poodle Cross, Schnauzer but I have two heavy shedders not mentioned Australian Cattledogs! Our catahoula also sheds very little or not at all as did our Dobermans you do not mention.
