Rob Hanover, PA 9/6/2009 2:10:17 PM My wife and I have 2 Chocolate Brown Pure Cockers. Neither of them sheds. White sheets on the bed and all you see is the cat fur but not the dog fur.
Bill Tullahoma, TN 9/6/2009 1:40:56 PM We had a Pekingese for 15 years and this breed does not shed either. They lose hair like a person. Pekingese are very intelligent and they learn very quickly. They are very good with kids and other animals. We will be getting another one shortly.
Jackie Flagstaff, AZ 9/6/2009 1:24:48 PM Minature Schnauzers are wonderful. No shedding and great with children. They are loveable, sturdy, intelligent and great pals. I have two now. I have had two others. So these are number 3 and 4. Would not hae any other breed!
Barbara Norwich, CT 9/6/2009 12:55:17 PM I can't believe you don't have the Shih Tzu's on your list!!! I have two and they are wonderful and no shedding! And they have hair.
Linda Payson, AZ 9/6/2009 12:51:59 PM The info was excellent, but you forgot one breed that doesn't shet and this is one breed that is rarely mentioned at all and that breed is the Laso Apso. We have one and we keep her clipped short, when her hair grows out she will lose long strand here and there, or she will pull out small chunks from her feet, but as far as shedding not at all.
Daisy Evansville, IN 9/6/2009 10:33:44 AM my chihuahua doesn't shed at all. why are they not on your list?
Kelly O Fallon, IL 9/6/2009 9:42:14 AM My all time favorite dog that doesn't shed, is soft and silky to the feel, like human hair, is the Silky Terrier. The breed is spunky, vociferous, very intelligent and just the right size for traveling in the car, or laying on your lap. Our two, Annie and Ruthie love to run with our Golden in the yard, are sturdy enough for a good round of tug indoors or outdoor play with kids in the back yard. These very loyal little dogs have a huge spirit and loving hearts.
Gail Woodward, OK 9/6/2009 9:02:54 AM We have been parents to toy poodles since 1984 and have not had any sensitivities to them, nor have any guests. The dander is not visable of course that they would leave...but the shedding is almost zero, as close to none as any dog if they are kept healthy. Any dog who is malnourished and stressed can shed more than it normally would, and certain conditions will cause it to shed.
Carol Dodge City, KS 9/6/2009 8:32:48 AM I have been the proud and loving owner of 4 schnauzers in the past. They did not shed at all! At this time I am the keeper of my "grandpuppy" (she belongs to my oldest grandaughter). This dog is quite small and sheds buckets of hair! It's a good thing she's smart and sweet.
Kat Portland, OR 9/6/2009 1:57:33 AM The Shih Tzu breed doesn't shed either. We have had three AKC Shih Tzus. Each has been wonderful ... and they don't shed. They do, however, need to be groomed (haircuts).
Rica Aberdeen, WA 9/6/2009 1:51:49 AM No one has mentioned true hairless breeds. They do not shed as they dont have hair or fur. Chinese Crested, Xolo(Mexican Hairless)The Hairles Terrier. These breeds need to be bathed regularly and the skin lotioned. The coated Xolo sheds,as do some coated Terriers.Coated Cresties do not shed.
Cherie Corvallis, OR 9/6/2009 12:25:45 AM Cairn Terriers are funny & lovable. But do not shed.We now have a Golden Retriever X that sheds everywhere, but they're really family oriented & protective.
GG. Port St. Lucie, FL 8/29/2009 11:23:53 PM CCC, There are many small breed dogs now being crossed with the poodle for this very reason, as poodles are known for their minimal shedding and are considered hypo-allergenic. If the poodle is not for you, consider a poodle hybrid such as a cocka- poo, puga-poo, pom-poo, or chi-poo. Good luck.
ccc london, CA 8/29/2009 7:49:33 AM I really wanted to get a dog a while ago ... so I begged my mom and dad to get one and finally they gave in! So I got a jack russel. But after 4 weeks my mom started to get real sick so she went to the doctor and he said that she was allergic to dander. So I had to give up my belloved dog. Now I really want a dog but I don't want to make the same mistake! Can anyone suggest small dogs that don't shed dander at all??? Please help me!!!
