I have no idea what B.C and Pam are talking about, but beagles *do* shed. I've had nothing but beagles my whole life and I'd always find dog hair everywhere. Beagles are fabulous dogs and they're what us vet techs like to call average shedders, meaning they shed at least 2-3x a year. They tend to shed the most in the spring and in the fall/early winter. Other than them being average shedders, beagles do make great family pets.

I can tell you from experience that my Maltipoo, Sophie, does not shed. I have had her for almost 4 years and very picky about dog hair. She spends a great deal of time on her bed or a towel on a chair and I have never, ever found her dog
hair
anywhere.

Thank you for the list, and as Pam of Colorado Springs mentioned I will add the adorable beagles to this list.

You left out the Shih Tzu on the list of dog breeds that do not shed. We have owned this breed for years. No shedding.

I had a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier for nearly 11 years. He was the BEST dog I have ever owned. He was sweet and very loyal and loving. His coat took some care and some expense in grooming, but he was worth it and NO SHEDDING! If you especially like a little bit bigger dog, this is a great choice. I wish I had another Wheatie now!

I have owned in the past the following non shedding,,,Airdale (great dogs-hard headed-need groomed-can have ear issues), Giant,Standard & Mini schnauzer (probably the easiest if you can groom your own), Chinese Crested Hairless (excellent-but have skin issues),Xolo-(excellent-but have skin issues), Labradoodle (they shed terrible, but dont set my allergies off-if you can stand the hair they are wonderful)
