Sounds nuts but I have been having issues with my back, now they found some abnormalities in my tissue. I have a small lap dog (well 3) the one I have had from a puppy is close to me. Every morning she licks my back ONLY in the exact spot that the doctors are checking. I swear she knows. Is this common or am I nuts

Cesar, you are my hero, I have a one yr. old Pointer/pit mix, she is the best dog, except she jumps on my guests when they arive and she digs digs digs! My son has mild special needs and is very hiper so keeping my dog Layla calm Isn't always possible. I am a 37 yr. old woman and I am the pack leader, she rarely jumps on me but is constantly jumping on my husband and child. the word stay seems to calm her. My Mother and Father inlaw recently walked in my home without knocking and my dog jumped and gouged a huge gash in my Father in laws hand, it was bleeding and I was so embarrest. I tell everyone to put there knee out and say stay then ignore her if she persists. What am I doing wrong???

Thank god for Cesar, i have being studying Cesar for quite some time now, he has also gave me the inspiration to study wild packs of wolfs etc. i can honestly say i feel like him some times LOL a lot of work i do is with rescue dogs and the advice i can give to new owners is what keeps dogs balanced in their new homes, no more dogs being returned since Cesar'S way of introducing. thank you Cesar xx

I love that article, but is there another article that explains how to be calm-assertive. Especially with a more dominant dog because my beagle is giving me a problem, and I doubt I am projecting the right energy.

I've had dogs since I was little and I'm amazed at how little I knew about them. I'm happy that Cesar is able to make it seem so easy and disappointed that I don't get his show on my cable subscription
anymore.

To the point, I currently have two dogs, Border Collie mixes, and while they are very similar in some ways, in other ways they couldn't be more different. The 7 year old is more timid and nervous around strangers, especially men. She's the biggest sweetheart once she gets to know anyone. The 5 year old tries to be dominant and this just increases the nervousness of the older
one.

I'm paying more attention to their moods, feeding time, attention time and it's eye opening how quickly they adjust when things change.

I'd love to be calm and assertive all of the time. By nature I am nervous and tentative and now I have a lovely chihuahua mix. My first dog. I have had cats for years. If I can't be consistent am i damaging my puppy for life? I am learning just as she, only I'm supposed to know how to lead. Puppy class is teaching me that I'm more unfocused than she. Love your philosophy. Judy P.
