K.D, Albany, GA 1/13/2011 5:41:44 PM I have seen many dogs irritated on their privates, after grooming. They should use nothing higher than a 7 blade, cool water rinse, and always a fresh blade, and not go over and over the area.I actually had a dog that was clipper burned so bad,she had sores from scratching,I powdered her with baby corn starch powder.A vet, recommended cortisone cream, and calamine lotion works if applied right after the clipping.
Portchia Covington, KY 11/28/2010 8:32:21 PM Is it okay to cortisone 1% if my dogs groomer blade irritated his private area he's constantly licking down there?
Carlin Edgartown, MA 9/26/2010 10:25:48 AM I am angry that this is the 3rd time thishas happened. Her little "pee pee" is so sore that she takes 2 steps and sits down fast, licks and drags. She was just groomed and they must have clipped her vulva. How can I give her relief.
Judi Gilbert, AZ 8/30/2009 9:17:14 AM This article has helped me so much. I just wish I could find a groomer in my area that is attentive to such matters. I have gone through 5 groomers and I have explained each time and shown them the Vet bills for antibiotics and Prednisone each and every time my pet is groomed wich is every 5 weeks. Can you suggest groomers in my area. I have a 2 yr. old YorkiePoo female her name is Wennie. Thank you
Ruby Jamestown, ND 2/11/2009 7:13:52 PM I just got my dog groomed and this is exactly what i'm going through with him. His testicles are very irritated and red. and he's whimpering and crying. Do you think this is something the groomers should know? or is this something that has to be communicated to her after the fact?
