Hello Pet
lovers,
Vet bills are sky rocketing. I am widowed, living only on my income. I want the best care for my dogs. I went to the vet the other day. My dog was not examined. It was a talk consultation and meds. $81.00. Just a poop sample (pardon the expression), is 56.oo. Heartworm meds plus the test. is $100.00 or more. Our companions and loyal friends need good care if they are to be healthy and live a long life. what is the solution?? thanks Catherine G

it's amazing to think that the services a Vet performs are taxable, when the services that Arnold's doctor are not - they both went to medical school - what's more, the vet has MORE education?? explain how the same services - though rendered to a different species are given different tax status? Who dreams up this stuff? Do we tax Beer with alchol, but not the stuff that's NON-alcoholic?????

ONE MORE THING, IT'S QUITE OBVIOUS THAT THE GOVERNORS KIDS DON'T HAVE PETS OR HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF OWNING ONE.

What will be next? Our government will propose a tax on married couples, charging them based how many children they have. How about taxing the illegal immigrants who come to our country have 10 kids and are on medical and food stamps? How about lowering wages of our government officials? I can't believe what a STUPID idea this is and our governor having the balls to even suggest it.

Our Governor is a PURE IDIOT. Republican inside, Democrat outside. pressured by his rich celebrity friends. All he knows is how to live rich. he has no concern for the middle class.

Now we are going to be taxed for our pets, what is next our kids? How about California Government pay for their own gas/car/travel? That would save the state a bundle!

I'm a veterinary receptionist/assistant, and I think that this care tax could be the worse possible thing. Cost of living and everything is already so high. All the pets that are being let go, or abandoned, or turned over to the pounds and shelters, this could very well make it so much worse.

Has anyone reached the Humane Society? It seems like we need a public outcry against this issue, as it is very serious. We need some way to convince the governor to stop this proposal. Please contact whomever you can. I did try to call Humane Society, but could only leave a message.

PLEASE DO NOT VOTE TO PUT A TAX ON VETERINARY SERVICES....WE ARE ALL STRUGGLING TO TAKE CARE OF OUR FAMILIES ... OUR PETS ARE PART OF OUR
FAMILY.
THIS WILL EFFECT NOT ONLY INDIVIDUALS, BUT HUMANE SOCIETIES AND RESCUE GROUPS AS
WELL.
PEOPLE ARE ALREADY TURNING IN MORE PETS AS IT IS BECAUSE OF THE ECONOMY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.

This is ridiculous! Animals are not a luxury they are part of the family. I teach Pet first aid for the Am. Red Cross & work with humane societies & animal welfare groups across the country so I know how important it is to take care of our pets. With ALL the animals being left behind in foreclosures, & those that are under cared how could this be allowed to pass.? This is crazy, it will only compound this already growing problem. We need to make it easier for animal owners to get help, NOT HARDER! Please don't do this!!

Pets are not a "luxury", for some, particularly the fragile amongst us, they are a lifeline. Please do not tax medical assistance for our Families, no matter who comprises "Family"
