It's really great how the AKC is suggesting dogs that would be good for allergy sufferers. But, the president elect can still hold true on his comment about getting one from a shelter. There are some people out there who get these types of dogs and for some reason or another find they can not keep them and deposit them in shelters. So president elect obama can still go to a shelter and obtain a purebred dog if that's what he really wants to do.

Definitely a Bichon. Intelligent, loveable, agile, funny little clowns, no shedding no smell, great dogs if you are an allergy suffer.

Schnauzer! Also a nice "non shed" dog and with a determined winning personality.

I beleive that Obama should go with the flat coated retriever! They are cute, nice, loving, they are not extremely protective but are great gaurd dogs and they are so nice and athletic. I have one and he is an agility dog jumping 4
ft!!!!!

Interesting! They should get a Bichon Frise. They're adorable and hypo-allergic.

I think that a poodle would be a good dog for them.
