our vet clinic is truly the best in town. I can call and ask questions when I have them, they call and check on our pets after visits. the whole staff is friendly, considerate, nice, and helpful.

So true- communication is key! It's a good idea to ask alot of questions so you know what's going on!

I am happy w/ our vet. I truly think people who do not have a vet they really, really like in their area may feel better taking their dog to one further away, at least once a year for their check-up & shots, & maybe use the local ones as needed.

I have VPI Pet Insurance, & have been happy with it. However, all insurance is expensive! I think the major reason for getting it is if your pet needs an expensive procedure done that will be much more affordable if you have insurance.

There's only one vet clinic in my area that several vets rotate through. There are only certain ones that I will book appointments with. One vet in particular has no communication skills whatsoever. The vet we see regularly makes sure I understand what's going on. If I have a question and he doesn't have the answer right there he contacts me with an answer.

We like our vet, but are very confused about the various insurances out there available.

Good article. We have a good vet, but we have certainly had some pretty bad ones.

I am not happy with my vet, but they're the best we can find in the immediate area. It's very sad.

when i moved i had to get a new vet. my old one was excellent and had seen my bichons since they were puppies. one of them was having an itchy skin issue, and since he was a matured bichon he had some faint apricot hairs on his back. the new vet thought the apricot hairs were brown from him licking them. be careful who you choose
