We have had our dog for 6 mos, and love her. But she just does not want to play.We live in a community that does not have a park for animals to go to so we are not fortunate that way. We live in the country. She does want lots of loving and all of the above you describe, so when the weather cools here (and it is HOT) we will try something else. She seems depressed and follows me or my husband around all the time. She is so loveable American Bull Dog mixed, and we will not let her go back. We were told she needed lots of love and that is what we will give her. Thanks for your advise, and you have described our beloved dog to a "T" .She spent a long time in a shelter.

I'm experiencing very similar things with my newly adopted dog. She loves to be petted and closes her eyes when you do, like she's soaking it up. And she rolls on her back when cuddling on the couch. And shows some interest in toys or balls, but then loses interest very quickly. Thanks for the advice on how to deal with it.
