With my husband's allergies, we thought we could never have a dog. However our 2 malti-poos have caused NO problem for him. We are thrilled with
them.
I was unfamiliar with several of the breeds mentioned in the article

I have also been told that Huskeys are also very good for allergy sufferers as they have wool rather than
fur.

There are so many options than just what was listed. People just need to do their homework on them.

Listing only the dogs that you list may make it sound like these are the ONLY dogs for allergy suffers. There are quite a few more breeds that also qualify. I happen to breed Cockapoos and have allergy suffers that are very happy and sniffle free from the puppies/dogs they have gotten from me. There are many poodle/x? mixes that do ok as well has shih tsu to name one other.

I have a bichon, he is a great dog. Neighbor that is allergic to dogs can come to my home and not worry. When he is around my dog he shows no allergy. My Bichon is friendly and quick to learn

I purchased my first maltese in 1970 and will forever own maltese. They are sweet, always waiting to please and extremely loyal. The maltese has a single coat which means they are wonderful for people with allergies, little to no shedding. They require bathing at least once a week, and must be brushed on a regular basis. I can assure you though the bathing and brushing are well worth the work; you will be rewarded with unconditional love, intelligence and loyal companionship.

You forgot the Yorkie. This little dog has been the only kind that I have not had problems having in my home.

I see that a wheaton terrier is among the allergy suffers. I have a scottie whose mother was black and his father was a wheaton. Would he suffer from allergies? He always discharge from his eyes and my Vet said it could be allergies. Would like your opinion.

I have two Hairless Chinese Crested girls, a mom and daughter. LOVE this breed!!! But this breed does have problems with its skin...not all of them but they are prone to have allergies. They can be expensive to maintain but are a FABULOUS breed of dog!!!! AGAIN love them dearly!!!

Wish you had mentioned the Puli. With their corded coat that is actually hair, they are a super breed. No shedding, no odors, and their coat can be kept cut short like a puppy, to keep the curly without the cords fo easy upkeep. THEY ARE ALSO A VERY SMART BREED!
