Web Series Offers Dogged Look at Film Classics

Film and dog lovers, take note: MyLifetime.com has launched a new Web-only series called “Hollywood Tails,” with dogs and cats assuming lead roles in recreations of famous scenes from celluloid classics like “ Casablanca,” “The Godfather,” “Thelma & Louise,” and “When Harry Met Sally.”

In “When Hairy Met Shaggy,” for instance, an Old English Sheepdog and an Australian Shepherd recreate the famous restaurant scene where Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal’s characters bicker over whether men and women can truly be platonic friends. Other “Hollywood Tails” episodes include “Casabarka” (“Casablanca”), “The Dogfather” (“The Godfather”) “Ghosty” (“Ghost”), “Kitty & Louise” (“Thelma & Louise”), and “Catanic” (“Titanic”).

MyLifetime.com recently launched other Web-only series, including “Gift Intervention” starring “The Daily Show” co-creator and comedian Lizz Winstead. The lighthearted series examines people’s bad gifts, and stages an “intervention” with the giver.
