You can't kill every mosquito that approaches your home, but you can take steps to limit your dog's exposure:
- Add a pump, bubbler, or water circulator to your backyard pond and birdbath to keep water from stagnating and providing ideal mosquito breeding grounds.
- Don't let water stand in empty flower pots, bowls, and old tires.
- Run your swimming pool filter regularly.
- Use gravel or sand to fill in marshy, stagnant areas.
