Cargo Gates
These tubular metal gates are used to confine dogs to areas behind the driver's seat.

      Pros

  • A gate allows your dog to freely roam the confined area without bothering you.

      Cons

  • Injuries can result from the dog hitting the gate in a sudden stop.
  • If the dog is not thrown out of the car in an accident, it would be loose in the back seat and probably agitated. It might try to escape the minute the car door is opened.

Next time you hit the road, remember to restrain your dog to make sure all of you reach your destination safely.

Very balanced and informative. I would be inclined to use safety harnesses with the cargo barrier.
