Danger With Unfamiliar Dogs
Not every dog is man's best friend. Be sure that you know how to act around unfamiliar dogs.
Do not approach a dog that is chained up or tied to a stake or tree. When you see a sign that says Beware of Dog, follow its instructions and stay away!
Do not tease or torment a pet that is behind a fence. Dogs can jump a fence if the reward is great enough. The reward might be to gain access to his tormentor (you!).
Dog bites are serious business. If you are bitten by a stray dog that runs off, a doctor will have to start treatment for rabies just as a precaution. Each year, many children visit emergency rooms with injuries from dog attacks that may range from minor to life threatening. Don't be a member of this statistic. Play safe, play smart and avoid strange dogs.
