Training Overview: The Maltese Puppy

Keep these five tips to keep in mind when training the Maltese puppy.

Maltese Puppies1. Once your pup is used to his new family and surroundings, and properly vaccinated, begin socialization to the outside world.

2. Early lessons can include introduction to the grooming table and basic grooming procedures.

3. Let your puppy become comfortable with his collar and lead and then proceed to taking short on-lead walks.

4. Introduce your pup informally to the basic commands before real training begins.

5. Let your pup explore his crate and begin to instill in him a positive association with it.

Retarded? are you? It is proven all dogs should be taken away from their mother and their litter on the 49th day of life as proven by Richard A. Wolters. If you wait longer than that or take them sooner it could have consequences on the dogs brain and learning ability.

Are u retarded? 10 weeks? The breeder shouldn't have even given you the pup till 12 weeks. All they know how to do now is eat, sleep, poop, play, and bond. Just be nice to him and disciplined in the walks and crate training. Once he's old enough to understand AND has bonded with you enought to love and respect you, he'll be glad to do whatever pleases you.

this was not all that helpful...my maltese is almost 10 weeks and she is very disobedient, so I was looking for some helpful tools to train her to not attack everything, or potty on the carpet.

I expected more than that, it was not very helpful.
